These tables display information that relate colonias within Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Starr, Willacy, and Zapata counties with their nearest hospitals. The records are sorted alphabetically by the colonias' names. These were calculated using a GIS script that would measure the distance from one layer's features (colonia boundaries) to a reference layer's features (hospital locations).

It should be noted taht a distance of 0.00 miles indicate a hospital that falls within the colonia's boundaries.

The field names and their respective descriptions are as follows:

These tables display information that relate colonias within Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Starr, Willacy and Zapata counties with their nearest regular public school campuses by grade level and school district. Alternative education facilities, such as disciplinary campuses or charter schools were not included. The records are sorted alphabetically by the colonias' names. These were calculated using a GIS script that would measure the distance from one layer's features (colonia boundaries) to a reference layer's features (school locations).

It should be noted that a distance of 0.00 miles indicate a campus that falls within the colonia's boundaries. Also, some school districts do not contain all the grade levels from EE-12, and this is reflected by the letters n/a, and a blank distance field. Lastly, colonias that straddle school district boundaries will have multiple entries (one for each school district that it intersects).
